Moon of Saturn Diameter: 203 km Distance: 151460 km (mean) Period: 0.6949 days Eccentricity: 0.0068 Inclination: 0.163° Magnitude: 14.4
Discovered in 1966, Janus is an inner moon of Saturn, extensively cratered with several impacts larger than 30 km. Given its low density and high albedo, Janus is obviously a very porous and icy rubble pile 203x185x152.6 km in size. Janus has almost the same orbit as Epimetheus. Epimetheus and Janus may have formed by the break-up of one moon.
